Mr Loukopoulos graduated from the Medical School of University of Athens in 1997 and completed his training in general surgery in 2005. He worked 6 years as consultant in general surgery and kidney transplantation in Evangelismos Hospital in Athens. In 2012 he moved to UK and Guy’s Hospital, where he was appointed as Consultant Transplant Surgeon in 2013. He is an expert in adult and paediatric kidney transplantation, in pancreas transplantation and in vascular access surgery. His main interests are, paediatric kidney transplantation (he operates on children as small as 10 kg) and robotic surgery for kidney donors and recipients. He is currently the only surgeon in UK to perform independently robotic donor nephrectomy and robotic kidney transplantation with more than 150 cases completed so far.
