Dr Harriet Scott

Dr. Harriet Scott is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. With a strong foundation in clinical excellence, medical education, and leadership, she brings a compassionate, patient-centred approach to every aspect of care. Dr. Scott is committed to improving her patients’ quality of life through expert, evidence-based and holistic treatment. She provides comprehensive consultations and thorough assessments, working in close partnership with patients to develop personalised care plans. Dr. Scott treats a broad spectrum of pain conditions including musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain, post-surgical pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), widespread pain syndromes including fibromyalgia, pelvic and abdominal pain and headaches. Dr. Scott considers not only the physical aspects of pain, but also its emotional and psychological impact. Her integrative approach ensures each patient is seen, heard, and supported as a whole person. She undertook Advanced Pain Training at Barts Health, where she was awarded the top prize in the FFPMRCA exam, distinguishing her as the highest-scoring candidate nationally. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Scott is passionate about medical education. She has designed and led simulation-based and exam preparation courses, edited and contributed to medical textbooks, and supported regional training initiatives. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
