I became a full-time consultant in 2001, initially as a general and breast surgeon, and as a breast surgeon/endocrine surgeon since 2010.  My background is that I completed general surgical training in 2001 and took up a general surgical consultant post with a special interest in breast surgery in January 2001 as a locum in Liverpool.  I then started my substantive consultant post at Chester in June 2001. I modified my practise to include only breast surgery as well as thyroid/parathyroid surgery in 2010 to meet the need for increased specialisation and an increasing workload. I now specialise in breast surgery, specifically breast cancer surgery, offering a full range of oncoplastic surgery breast techniques (except free flap surgery) and experienced specialist opinion for all patients experiencing breast symptoms. I have a longstanding commitment to teaching and clinical trials and managing surgical workload and cancer workload through the pandemic.
