Mr Guy Mole is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a subspecialist interest in cataract and glaucoma surgery. After growing up in Oxford he graduated from Brighton & Sussex medical school in 2011, with honours in surgery, before returning for ophthalmology training in the Oxford region. During this time he developed expertise in improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery gaining an MSc with distinction before working as the digital lead for the Oxford Eye Hospital, the National Medical Directors Clinical Fellow, the medical director of an Oxford based AI company and the joint national clinical lead for outpatient eye care at NHS England. After returning to full time clinical practice and completing his ophthalmic surgical training Guy undertook a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital which is a leading centre for cataract combined with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). This was followed by a second fellowship at Moorfields eye hospital focussing on traditional glaucoma surgery such as trabeculectomy and aqueous shunt. Guy is also active in research with a focus on surgical outcomes following MIGS and using AI to enhance the delivery of eye care.
