Mr Gihan Jayasinghe

Mr Jayasinghe was raised in Kent and studied medicine at St George’s Medical School and also completed an MSc in Musculoskeletal Sciences at UCL, passing with credit and distinction respectively. He has experience working in Orthopaedics since 2011 and underwent his specialist training on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex training rotation. Along the way he has received academic prizes and bursaries as well as publishing a number of research papers and presenting them at international Orthopaedic conferences. Following his training he undertook a fellowship at the renowned South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), where he was under the tutelage of some of the UK’s most eminent professors and surgeons. Alongside routine joint replacements he also learnt to conduct direct anterior approach hip replacements, revision hip replacements and computer navigated knee replacements. His current NHS practice is in the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. He works across all the 3 main hospital sites providing outpatient and inpatient care. He  conducts a range of hip and knee replacement operations ranging from routine to more complex surgical procedures.  Outside of work he loves spending time and travelling with his family. He is passionate about sport and fitness and enjoys managing a children’s football team in his spare time. Mr Jayasinghe is passionate about Orthopaedic surgery. He particularly  prides himself on attention to detail and his caring nature. He gains deep job satisfaction from increasing his patients’ quality of life and wellbeing through hip and knee joint replacement surgery.
