Mr Fortune Iwuagwu

Mr Fortune Iwuagwu trained in all aspects of plastic surgery in various internationally acclaimed units in the United Kingdom including doing the British Society for Surgery of the Hand fellowship. This was followed by a Hand and Microsurgery fellowship in the internationally renowned Christine Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery, Louisville, USA. On return to the United Kingdom, he was appointed a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon at the St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic surgery and Burns, Broomfield hospital, Chelmsford (formerly also as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Whipps Cross University Hospital, London) and has held this post for the last twenty years. In the NHS, his main interests are in microsurgical soft tissue and skeletal reconstruction of the upper and lower limbs, especially the hand. He has presented and published in peer reviewed journals on various topics especially in hand reconstruction. His research interests include tendon healing, tensile strength after repair and deep microbiological flora of non healing ulcers of the limbs. In his private or independent practice, his main interests include cosmetic breast surgery both on females and males including breast reduction, uplift, augmentation or enlargement, treatment for 'manboobs' or gynaecomastia etc); body contouring procedures (such as abdominoplasty, liposuction etc); eyelid surgery, prominent ear surgery, hand surgery (including arthritis, Dupuytren's, carpal tunnel surgery etc.); lumps and bumps; and skin cysts and moles.
