Dr Fazal-Ur-Rehman Sheikh

Dr Sheikh has been working as a substantive NHS consultant in Surrey and Greater London since 2016. He completed general medical rotations at various hospitals across England and GP training in South West London. Afterwards, he undertook rheumatology speciality training in the Wales Deanery at the Peter Maddison Rheumatology Centre, Llandudno, and the University Hospitals of Wales, Cardiff. Dr Sheikh was awarded the WARN (Welsh Arthritis Research Network) Specialist registrar Research Grant to investigate Rheumatoid Cachexia and participated in research in collaboration with the Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences (SSHES), Bangor University. He developed an interest in MSK ultrasound in Rheumatology during this time, undertook ultrasound training at PMRC Llandudno and Croydon University Hospitals and subsequently completed the CASE Accredited Focused Ultrasound course in Rheumatoid Arthritis from Canterbury University with distinction. Dr Sheikh was a co-author in multiple publications, including publications regarding Rheumatoid Cachexia and ultrasound features in early arthritis. He is currently working as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at St George's University of London. He is the undergraduate Rheumatology faculty lead and has been the named GP trainee supervisor for Rheumatology at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals.  Qualifications: MBBS MRCP(UK) MRCGP MRCP (UK)(Rheumatology) FRCP Professional Memberships: Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Member of the British Society for Rheumatology Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners
