Mr Elmunzar Osman Bagouri

My name is Elmunzar Bagouri, a Consultant in Trauma and Revision Arthroplasty at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. I completed my core orthopaedic training in Nottingham before joining the highly regarded Yorkshire and Humber rotation for higher surgical training. Following the successful completion of the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination, I was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). To further develop my subspecialty expertise, I undertook a complex trauma fellowship at King's College Hospital, one of Europe’s busiest major trauma centres. This experience provided extensive exposure to the management of complex periarticular injuries and high-energy trauma. Subsequently, I completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Revision Arthroplasty in Toronto, Canada, where I trained in a high-volume North American centre. During this fellowship, I gained advanced experience in primary, complex primary, and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, including management of challenging cases and complications. I have a strong interest in both trauma and lower limb arthroplasty research, with my work presented at national and international meetings. Alongside my clinical practice, I am actively involved in postgraduate medical education. I serve as a member of the Board of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and have contributed to both national and local interview panels for orthopaedic trainee selection. I am committed to delivering high-quality patient care while supporting the development of future surgeons through education, mentorship, and engagement in training programmes.
