GMC reg: 2413554Miss Elfy Chevretton is a Consultant ENT Surgeon that has worked at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust since 1993. Since 1997 Elfy has developed a dedicated weekly multidisciplinary voice clinic service, supported by a speech and language therapy team, Laryngology Fellow and a specialist registrar. As a lead clinician, she provides both a local and a tertiary voice clinic service and supports this with phonosurgery and laryngeal framework surgery. Elfy and her team see a wide variety of voice problems each week in both professional voice users and the population at large. This is in addition to a busy general adult ENT service where Elfy sees a wide range of ENT conditions with interests in rhinology and snoring. From 1993-2005 Elfy provided part of a specialist regional head and neck oncologic service and it was during that time that she furthered her interests in voice. Elfy qualified from St George’s Hospital, London in 1978 having obtained an intercalated Honours BSc in pharmacology. She completed an MS in 1989 as a Lecturer and Honorary Registrar at The Royal London Hospital and as a Research Assistant in the Department of Experimental Pathology at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London. Her MS was on ’The effect of photodynamic therapy on normal muscle and muscle infiltrated by tumour’. She was awarded the Zimmer Fellowship Prize in 1991 for her research into Photodynamic Therapy. Elfy has published over 40 articles in peer reviewed medical and scientific journals as well as a number of abstracts and has authored 3 book chapters in major texts of ENT. Elfy is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Clinical Advisor to Guy's, King's and St Thomas' School of Medicine. She takes an active part in the teaching and training of undergraduate students and postgraduate doctors including General Practitioners. Elfy ran a biannual national ENT clinical meeting called the‘Semon Club for over 20 years - one of the oldest and most prestigious national meetings for trainees. She continues to be an MRCS examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Miss Chevretton has a busy NHS practice seeing a wide range of general ENT conditions. She sees her private patients at The Shard ENT Clinic which is part of The London Bridge Hospital. Her specialist interest in laryngology was developed during the years she provided part of a regional head and neck oncology service. Whilst now focussing mainly on laryngology and phonosurgery she continues to treat a wide variety of general ENT conditions as well as manage rhinology patients and patients with snoring with and without obstructive sleep apnoea.
