Dr Seaton studied Medical Sciences at the University of Cambridge and Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford. He trained as a dermatologist in London at Imperial College and University College Hospitals. He completed a DM degree (similar to a PhD) at Imperial College, London. He was a Consultant Dermatologist at Royal Free London for twelve years and he was Clinical Lead of the Royal Free Dermatology Department for seven years. Dr Seaton undertakes private practice at The London Clinic, Harley Street and at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St John's Wood, London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and a Member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society of Dermatological Surgery.

Dermatology
Dr Seaton undertakes dermatology clinics for all skin, hair and nail conditions, but has a particular interest in the treatment of acne, rosacea, skin cancer and skin surgery. Dr Seaton is one of the few dermatologists in the UK trained in Mohs Surgery, a dermatologist provided, scar-minimising surgical technique for basal cell carcinoma, the commonest type of skin cancer, which has the highest cure rate of any treatment.
