I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip and Knee Surgery. My NHS practice is based at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Clifton Park NHS Treatment Centre. I also perform private clinical work at Clifton Park Hospital, and Nuffield Health York Hospital, as well as sitting on the committee for the United Kingdom Knee Osteotomy Registry (UKKOR). Since qualifying in 2001, I have worked round the world, particularly in Australia gaining experience in leading lower limb surgical units. My Surgical Training is as follows: 2000 BSc in Orthopaedic Sciences from University College London based out of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. 2001 Graduated from St Bartholmew’s and The Royal London Medical School. 2007-2013 Orthopaedic Specialist Training on the North East Thames Rotation based out of the Royal London Hospital. Specialist Fellowships: 2006 - The Jonathan Webb Orthopaedic and Sports Knee Injury Fellowship 2013 - The Royal Melbourne Hospital Trauma and Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship with hip arthroscopy 2014 - Ashford and St Peters Hospital Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship 2015 - The Adrian Wilson Basingstoke Knee Fellowship Through this I have extensive experience in a wide range of procedures covering many aspects of hip and knee pathology. I have a specialist interest in joint preserving surgery such as hip arthroscopy, soft tissue knee surgery and knee osteotomies, as well as Joint replacement surgery. Fundamental to my approach is taking the time to listen to and examine my patients. All my treatment plans are a collaboration between myself, the therapist and most importantly the patient. We will discuss with you the different options to improve your quality of life, and a return to activities and sport that may have previously not been possible.
