Dr Ying Cheong

In 2011, Professor Cheong co-founded the Complete Fertility Centre Southampton, located at the Princess Anne Hospital. The innovative centre now treats hundreds of fertility patients, striving to offer compassionate, accessible fertility care for each and every one. Professor Cheong is also actively involved in research in embryo development and nutrition, and sits on several clinical trial steering committees. She has served as a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians scientific advisory committee, and as the lead for the local clinical research network. She has been featured in numerous publications and is involved in a number of active clinical trials. In addition to her research and clinical practice, Professor Cheong is also actively involved in education and training, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. In 2008, she was appointed as Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton, and in 2016, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Professor Ying Cheong is a skilled specialist in reproductive medicine and surgery with extensive training and experience in both the clinical and surgical treatment of infertility. Professor Cheong is highly specialised in reproductive surgery, using both laparoscopic (minimally invasive) and open techniques in the treatment of patients with fertility problems. Professor Cheong sees and manages patients presenting with a wide range of gynaecological problems, her areas of interest including endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and adhesions.
