GMC reg: 4210375Dr Warke qualified in Medicine from Queen's University Belfast in 1995. He did his general medical training in the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast, becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1998, and elected as a fellow of the Edinburgh College in 2008. Dr Warke entered higher specialist training in Respiratory Medicine later in 1998 and trained in the Belfast City Hospital, the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Mater Hospital. In 2002, during this period of training, he was awarded his MD from Queen's University Belfast for his thesis on asthma. He also received the European Respiratory Society Young Investigator’s Award First Prize in September 2001 following presentation of aspects of his research. Further specialist training in interventional bronchoscopy and lung cancer was undertaken at the North West Lung Centre in Manchester before he was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 2004. In November 2004, Dr Warke joined the Respiratory Team at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, having been appointed as Consultant Respiratory Physician. Dr Warke has interest in all respiratory diseases with specialist interest in lung cancer and bronchoscopy. Dr Warke is involved in undergraduate medical education as he supervises final year medical student attachments to the Respiratory Unit in the Royal. In his role as an Educational Supervisor, he is heavily involved in the postgraduate medical education of junior doctors. From August 2007, Dr Warke was been the Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine for the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust and he was then appointed to the role of overall Clinical Director for Respiratory Medicine for the Belfast Trust in May 2017. In April 2011, he was appointed as an honorary lecturer for Queen's University Belfast. Dr Warke has been seeing private patients at Hillsborough Private Clinic since September 2005.
