Dr Rovel Colaco

Dr Colaco specialises in treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumours. He was the first UK doctor to train in proton therapy having worked at the University of Florida proton therapy Institute. He also trained in stereotactic radiotherapy and radio surgery at Yale University in Connecticut, USA. He has published several manuscripts on proton therapy and stereotactic radiotherapy in international peer reviewed journals and is the principal investigator at The Christie for the CORE trial, examining the utility of stereotactic radiotherapy to newly metastatic tumours which have spread to bone, spine, lymph nodes and the liver. He was also responsible for the development of clinical treatment protocols for proton therapy for the UK proton therapy programme and leads the stereotactic radiotherapy program to bone and spine tumours at The Christie.
