Dr Pratap Neelakantan

I trained at Hammersmith Hospital, London and completed a fellowship in cancer studies at Imperial College, London. I have published in peer reviewed journals, presented in international conferences and authored chapters in haemato-oncology. I am the Myeloma and Myeloproliferative neoplasms lead at the Royal Berkshire Hospitals, Reading and undertake specialist clinics at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.  I am principal investigator in several national and International studies in malignant haematology including myeloma, lymphoma and myeloproliferative neoplasms. 

I am specialist in adult haemato-oncology covering all malignant haematological conditions and general haematology including haemostasis, thrombosis, obstetric haematology and; Anaemia, low white cell count, polycythaemia and thrombocytopenia; Investigation of abnormal/raised white cell counts; Chronic leukaemia including CML(chronic myeloid leukaemia), CLL(chronic lymphocytic leukaemia), HCL (hairy cell leukaemia); Abnormal bleeding or bruising; Thromboembolism and investigation into causes, anticoagulation, including using DOACs; Paraproteinemias and abnormal light chains; Unexplained symptoms with abnormal blood counts; Pregnancy and haematology; Enlarged lymph nodes, with or without weight loss, sweats; Persistent unexplained fever, fatigue.
