Dr Nihal Shah

Dr Nihal Shah is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and the East and North Herts NHS trust hospitals. He is the lead breast clinical oncologist at the Lister Hospital. Dr Shah’s interests are in the management of breast cancer and radiotherapy. He is able to advise on the treatment for unknown primary cancers and has an interest in both radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Dr Shah is active in clinical trial participation, is an investigator for a number for local studies. He has been as advisor to the HTA (Health Technology Appraisal) Panel and was an advisor to the Health Care Commission and the cancer strategy for head and neck tumours. Dr Shah has advised BACUP, dedicated websites for cancer information and ethnic minority groups for cancer care information. At the time of submitting this information in October 2018, there is no data capture for radiotherapy from Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and the Elstree Genesis Radiotherapy centre. This is a significant number of procedures. Dr Shah has asked that this is addressed through standard request procedures.
