GMC reg: 3274253Dr Hacking is the most senior consultant in the pain clinic of the Royal Preston Hospital. This is a busy multidisciplinary clinic with 7 doctors which treats over 2,000 new patients every year. He has occupied a number of roles whilst working in Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Clinical Director (Anaesthetics, Theatres, Pain and Critical Care) from 2009 to 2012. He served on the Clinical Reference Group advising NHS England on Specialised Pain Services from 2012 to 2016. He is the Regional Adviser for Pain Medicine, appointed by the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2015. Dr Hacking is an active member of the British Pain Society, the North-West Region Pain Group and is a Founding Fellow of the London Pain Forum. In addition to his clinical work, he is involved in teaching, education and research. His hobbies include vegetable growing and Land Rover maintenance.
