Dr Michael Reynolds

Dr Michael Reynolds has been a consultant physician and gastroenterologist at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital since 2008. He trained at University College London and undertook specialist training at the Royal London and Royal Free Hospitals. He is the clinical lead for the Gastroenterology department, and is lead across the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust for ERCP and Neurogastroenterology. He is also an experienced General Physicians and contributes to the emergency care of acutely unwell patients. During his post-graduate specialty training in the North East Thames Region he spent three years as a Clinical Lecturer at Barts and the Royal London Medical School involved in undergraduate medical education while gaining experience in ERCP and pancreato-biliary disorders as a Fellow at the Wingate Institute of Neurogastroenterology. He has gained a broad experience in functional bowel disorders and has a particular interest in the management of complex abdominal pain symptoms. He is an experienced therapeutic endoscopist, performing therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy with particular expertise in ERCP undertaking specialist sphincter of Oddi manometry and Spyglass cholangioscopy. He has an interest in the management of gastrointestinal malignant disease, functional bowel disease and pancreaticobiliary medicine. He has considerable experience in the palliation of gastrointestinal cancers and is a Trustee of St Michael’s Hospice in Basingstoke.
