GMC reg: 2344223Dr McAlpine qualified in medicine in 1979 from Glasgow University. He has been a consultant cardiologist since 1992 at the Victoria Infirmary and later at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and has consulted at Ross Hall since 1996. He has a broad range on experience in general cardiology and has specialist interests in heart failure and investigation and management of heart valve disease. In relation to this, he has expertise in echocardiography and transoesophageal echo imaging. He manages patients with angina, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure as well as investigation of those with palpitation and dizziness.
