Dr Gopalan Vijaya

I was appointed as a consultant Obstetrician Obstetrician and Urogynaecologist in 2015 at Frimley Park Hospital ,Surrey. Apart from delivering emergency obstetrics and gynaecology services, I have been delivering urogynae services as a urogynae Subspecialist. I am also the Clinical lead for Gynae clinical governance at FPH. I completed my subspecialist training in Urogynaecology at Imperial college healthcare NHS trust and also obtained my MD[Res] in Urogynaecology in 2014. I also had the excellent opportunity to do a clinical research fellow post in urogynaecology for 2 ½ years at Imperial college health care NHS trust and have completed more than 10 research projects. My involvement in research has resulted in various national and international oral presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to my urogynaecology experience I have comprehensive general training in obstetrics and gynaecology and completed my CCT training in 2014.

Urogynaecology which includes; Reconstructive pelvic floor surgery; Management of Uterovaginal prolapse; Female urinary incontinence; Bladder pain syndrome; Recurrent urinary tract infections; Bladder instillations; Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation; outpatient Flexible cystoscopy; Botox injection. Urogynae investigation: saline and Video Urodynamic investigation. General gynaecology. Other areas of interest: Postpartum pelvic floor problems Research in urogynaecology
