GMC reg: 6156640Qualified with honours in medicine at University of Bristol in 2007. Trained in haemato-oncology in the South West including a post-doctorate degree in lymphoma under Professor Simon Rule and Dr Clair Hutchinson in Plymouth. Received several national awards for research including British Society for Haematology and the Royal College of Physicians in 2018, 2021 and 2023. Active in lymphoma and haematology research and represent the South West Peninsula for Haematology on the National Specialty Research Network for the NIHR. Principle investigator on over 20 clinical trials and National Coordinating Investigator on several commercial lymphoma clinical trials in 2023.

Dr David Tucker MB ChB, BSc, MD MRCP, FRCPath, Appointed as a substantive consultant haematologist at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro in January 2019, with practicing privileges at The Duchy Private Hospital, Truro, my areas of special interest are Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, general haematology and clinical research. I am the regional specialty lead for haematology research for the NIHR clinical research network and department lead for research in haematology at Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust. Since commencing my first substantive consultant post in January 2019 I have led research as principal investigator on twenty clinical trials and am now chief investigator on the Phase III Olympia trials (Regeneron Pharmaceuticals) of bi-specific antibody therapy in Non-Hodgkin lymphoma; I have won three national awards for clinical research and publication of nineteen peer-reviewed journal papers and proceedings including The Lancet and The British Journal of Haematology. During training and in my first four years as a consultant, have co-authored and published over fifty peer reviewed articles and papers with a particular interest in lymphoma. I represent the Southwest Peninsula region at the Clinical Research Network for malignant and non-malignant haematology research. I am a member of the British Society for Haematology Lymphoma Special Interest Group and the NCRI High Grade Lymphoma Study Group. I am also an enthusiastic teacher of evidence-based medicine and critical appraisal of scientific literature. I support medical education as a Professional Development Group Tutor for the University of Exeter Medical School.
