Dr Chetan Varma

Dr Varma undertook his undergraduate and postgraduate training in medicine in London at centres of excellence. He also underwent a training fellowship in cardiac interventions in Toronto. His Doctorate in Medicine was in heart failure and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (St Geroges Hospital, University of London). He then moved to Birmingham as a Consultant Cardiologist and has a successful career in managing all types of cardiac pathology. In addition he has helped develop the teaching curriculum for undergradustes with the University of Birmingham, has successfully supervised postgraduate degrees in cardiology and is now Group Director for Medicine and Emergency Care at the large teaching Sandwell and West Birminghams NHS Trust, for which he eads 12 medicla specialties.
