Dr Amer Al Joudeh

I am a Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Honorary Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sheffield, with a private practice at Thornbury Hospital and Claremont. Hospital in Sheffield. I am a member of the hepato-biliary cancer multi-disciplinary team and the lead for the liver cancer service in the department of Hepatology at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. I was appointed in Sheffield as a consultant in 2014. I did my higher training in Sheffield and Leeds.   I practice privately in BMI Thornbury and Claremont Spire Hospitals in Sheffield.  Diseases: Abnormal Liver Tests, Fatty liver disease, Liver cirrhosis and autoimmune liver disease and liver cancer,bile duct and gallbladder stones, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and swallowing difficulties. I am interested in managing liver diseases including abnormal liver tests, liver cirrhosis/ scarring, fatty liver, autoimmune liver diseases, haemochromatosis, viral hepatitis, liver, pancreas and gallbladder cancers. I also have an interest in managing chronic and acute abdominal pain; sphincter of oddi dysfunction, irritable bowel syndrome and oesophageal spasm. I manage general gastrointestinal diseases; such as nausea, reflux, swallowing difficulty, diarrhea and constipation; I arrange appropriate investigations including, blood, breath and stool tests and I perform endoscopy to aid with making a diagnosis, including gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.
