Dr Agustin Martin-Clavijo

Dr Martin-Clavijo obtained his medical degree from the University of Salamanca, Spain in 1995. He then competed a research PhD before moving to the United Kingdom in 1997 to train in General Internal Medicine and become a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London. Following this, he completed specialist training in Dermatology in the West Midlands to become a fully accredited Consultant Dermatologist, registered with in the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register. Dr Martin-Clavijo has been a Consultant Dermatologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) since May 2008 skin oncology. He is a core member of the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at the QE Hospital, having chaired it for 5 years, which delivers care to skin cancer patients from the whole region and beyond. He treats all skin cancers, from common skin cancers (such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma) to all rare skin cancers. He was also the Chair of the NHS Pan Birmingham Cancer Network Skin Cancer Group, providing assurance around the quality and safety of cancer services being delivered in the region. Dr Martin-Clavijo is an experienced Cutaneous Surgeon and is able to treat complex and advanced skin cancer. He is one of the few surgeons in the region who is able to perform Mohs Micrographic Surgery. He sees referrals from other experts in the region (such as Dermatologists, Plastic surgeons and Ear, Nose and Throat surgeons) for advice and management of complex or rare cancers and is able to deliver the treatment as well as perform the reconstruction in most cases.
