GMC reg: 4254841Dr Raghuram has been a Consultant in General and Respiratory Medicine since 2007 at Gloucestershire; prior to which he was a Consultant (2002-7) at City Hospital in Birmingham. He did his general medical and respiratory training on the North Western rotation. He was trained in bronchoscopy at the Northwest Lung centre in Manchester and at Salford Royal Hospitals including techniques in interventional bronchoscopy. He trained in the use of endobronchial ultrasound and has a high diagnostic rate for lung cancer using this technique. Dr Raghuram’s research was in small airways diseases. He trained in Critical Care in Aberdeen. This resulted in a lasting interest in managing patients with narrowed airways and respiratory failure and enhanced his interest in managing patients with unexplained breathlessness and persistent cough. Dr Raghuram has experience in managing patients with conditions such as Asthma and COPD, lung cancer, pulmonary embolism, sarcoidosis and pulmonary fibrosis. Dr Raghuram has an enduring interest in teaching and has a Masters in Healthcare education from Bristol University. He was the Head of the Postgraduate School of Medicine in the region (2015-22) and is a Host and Chair of Examiners for the MRCP examinations both in the UK and overseas. He was the Royal College of Physicians Linacre Fellow (2016-20) and is a trustee councillor at the Royal College of Physicians of London. He is the chief medical officer of the Gloucestershire Integrated care board @NHS Gloucestershire He was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours, 2021.
