After completing MBBS in Kolkata university I did MS from Aligarh, India. I came to the UK in 2000 and after completing MRCSEd I commenced research in Newcastle University. My research was "The application of molecular profiling and proteomics in the management of liver cancer'. I was awarded MD after successful completion of research. I trained as a speciality trainee in General Surgery and in the latter part of my training my special interest was benign upper GI surgery. I started as a consultant surgeon at Bedford Hospital in 2015. I then commenced work at Manor Hospital and later in the Bridges clinic. I am proficient in laparoscopic benign upper GI work and now also become competent with robotic upper GI benign work. I have also commenced an abdominal wall reconstruction service collaborating with colleagues in plastic surgery.
