I am a Trauma and Orthopaedic consultant surgeon employed primarily by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.  I have a sub-specialist interest in both elective and trauma shoulder and elbow surgery.  I have been a consultant since 2016, having completed my training in the West of Scotland, spent a year in specialist training in Melbourne and then undertaken further sub-specialist training in Oswestry. I offer a range of procedures including shoulder arthroplasty (replacement), tendon repair, stabilisation following dislocation and tendon repairs around the elbow.  I, however, would emphasise that often surgery is not the best management plan and that appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation is frequently the key to early return to function.  Patients must beware of the risk of doctors treating a scan result and forgetting that symptom control is the focus of any treatment.   A comprehensive understanding of the presenting symptoms, a focused examination with sound interpretation of the findings and a shared understanding of the patient's options and agreed management plan are the foundations of my practice.
