I graduated from Manchester University in 1994. I have trained in Oncology at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield and at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. I have been practising as a consultant specialising in Breast cancer and Head and Neck cancers at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital since 2007. I have been the lead researcher for Head and Neck Cancer for the South West of England and am the chair of the WHANG group of head and neck cancer consultants for the south west of England and Wales. I work closely with my breast surgeons and breast cancer nurses.
