Mr David Hillier

I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, including joint replacement and the management of complex musculoskeletal trauma. My career in healthcare began in physiotherapy, where I developed a strong foundation in rehabilitation and patient care before going on to study medicine at the University of Manchester. I completed my surgical training across the Midlands and the North West, and have been working as a consultant in Liverpool since 2022. I regularly treat patients with hip and knee arthritis, offering both primary and revision joint replacement, as well as managing complex trauma cases, including those related to injury or infection. I also play a role in regional collaborative work to help maintain and improve the quality of revision joint replacement services across Cheshire and Merseyside. Alongside my clinical work, I am the governance lead for the Orthopaedic Department, helping to ensure high standards of patient safety and care. I also combine my interest in trauma care with motorsport medicine, working as a Chief Medical Officer at Oulton Park and supporting events at Silverstone. Outside of work, I enjoy balancing a busy clinical role with family life and pursuing my interest in motorsport. I focus on providing clear advice and high-quality care, helping patients feel confident and supported throughout their treatment.
