David is a Consultant Nephrologist at Guy's Hospital in London, one of the most prestigious renal units and the biggest transplant centre in the UK. He has expertise in all aspects of renal medicine including acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, kidney stones and urology liaison, tubular dysfunction, Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE, Lupus Nephritis), glomerulonephritis, dialysis (haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) and transplantation. David graduated in Medical Sciences (Pharmacology) from Cambridge University and studied Clinical Medicine at Oxford University. After junior doctor training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, he was awarded a coveted MRC Clinical Training Fellowship, taking his PhD in transplant immunology at Imperial College London, Hammersmith Hospital. He then embarked on general medical and specialist renal training on the prestigious North Thames rotation. He spent 3 years as a Clinical Lecturer in renal medicine at Imperial College London, Hammersmith Hospital before being appointed as a Consultant at Guy's in 2009. David has over 40 original publications link, 4 book chapters and held several research grants. He has presented his work nationally and internationally. He continues his transplant immunology research interest including as a Principal Investigator in a €14M EU funded trial of cell therapy for transplant tolerance. He is an enthusiastic teacher, holds several educational posts and was previously voted "Guy's teacher of the year" by the junior doctors. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London
