I was born in Sarawak, Borneo. I went to school in Kuching and then in Ballarat, Australia. I graduated from Glasgow University medical school in 1992. I completed my surgical training in 2003 and was appointed Consultant Colorectal surgeon in Greater Glasgow Health Board. I helped establish laparoscopic colorectal surgery and enhanced recovery programs in Glasgow and am now a leading robotic colorectal surgeon in GG&C health board as well as in Ross Hall Hospital. I am a keen runner and wood worker. I have completed 10 marathons including 3 ultra marathons.as well as 40 odd half marathons and 10ks.
