I undertook my Surgical training in Liverpool, a laparoscopic fellowship at Plymouth and completed a higher research degree at Keele before taking up a my Consultant post. I have been a consultant General and Colorectal surgeon since 2011 and held numerous leadership roles. Currently I am Clinical Director for General Surgery and Wirral University Teaching Hospital as well as Clinical Lead for General Surgery in Cheshire and Merseyside which is one of the largest ICB's in the country. I have a large established practise as well as expertise in minimally invasive surgery for cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and UC) and endometriosis, and one of the largest series of Laparoscopic assisted Ileo-caecal resection with Kono- s anastomosis for Crohn's, an emerging surgical technique which is changing the landscape of IBD surgery. I have an interest in complex abdominal wall problems as well as benign anorectal conditions including piles, fissures, pilonidal sinus and fistulas. I also have a large experience in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy as well as abdominal and inguinal hernias.
