A specialist paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Reed’s expertise is in the care of children and adolescents with musculoskeletal conditions. As well as his private practice at Childrens Orthopaedic, Mr Reed has an NHS practice at Evelina London Children's Hospital. After graduating from Oxford University Medical School, he undertook general surgical training in Oxford and London, before orthopaedic training on the Guys & St Thomas' rotation. He completed speciality paediatric orthopaedic fellowship training at The Royal London Hospital, and then in Starship Children's Hospital, Auckland. He was appointed as a substantive consultant in paediatric orthopaedics at Evelina Childrens' Hospital in 2017, where he has been Head of Service since 2020. Mr Reed has extensive experience managing the full spectrum of paediatric orthopaedic conditions in patients ranging from newborns to young adults. His areas of particular interest include: clubfoot (CTEV); developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH); Perthes' disease; trauma (fractures, sports injuries), and infection. Mr Reed has an MSc in Trauma & Orthopaedic sciences, and has active research interests in paediatric musculoskeletal infection and orthopaedic care of children with cerebral palsy. A major part of his practice involves caring for children and young adults with musculoskeletal problems related to neurodisability (including, but not limited to, cerebral palsy and spina bifida). He is a member of the British Society for Childrens Orthopaedic Surgeons (BSCOS), the British Society for Surgery in Cerebral Palsy, and the British Orthopaedic Association, and is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (England).
