Mr Daniel Dawson

Although I enjoyed several surgical specialities throughout medical school, orthopaedics is what captured my imagination.  I won the Wilson Orthopaedic Medal in 2009 and embarked upon my post graduate medical career later that year. Over the course of the next six years, I rotated through various surgical specialities including, general surgery, plastic surgery and of course trauma & orthopaedics, including hip and knee surgery, before commencing specialist training in trauma & orthopaedics in 2015.  I completed my specialist training in August 2021 before taking up a fellowship post in Waikato, New Zealand. During this time working in New Zealand I specialised in arthroplasty, both primary and revision procedures. I also gained experience in robotic knee surgery which is an exciting development in the orthopaedic sphere.

As well as primary hip and knee replacement I also subspecialise in revision knee and hip replacement
