Mr Conrad Yuen

I am a British trained ophthalmologist with 16 years of consultant experience in ophthalmology. After qualifying as a doctor from University of Liverpool in 1994, I commenced my basic ophthalmic training in Glasgow in 1995, followed by completion of higher specialist training in Ophthalmology at St Pauls Eye Unit in Liverpool in 2007. Before taking up a consultant's post, I received further sub-specialty training in glaucoma with a fellowship at London's Moorfields Eye Hospital. I was appointed consultant ophthalmologist in 2009 at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport where I was also the Glaucoma Lead. In May 2021 after the Covid pandemic, I returned to Aintree University Hospital briefly as a locum consultant specialising in Glaucoma until October 2022 when I was appointed as permanent consultant ophthalmologist at Macclesfield General Hospital.

My special interests and experience lie in the management of glaucoma (medical, lasers and surgical options) as well as cataract surgery. I have extensive experience in complex cases whereby glaucoma and cataract are comorbidities. I have also gained vast experience in oculoplastic procedures during my training in Liverpool, with over 18 months' of tutelage from all the regional oculoplastic experts.
