Mr Colin Hart

Mr Colin Hart has been a Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital for over ten years. He is developing the Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Service which serves North Central London and beyond. He specialises in complex abdominal wall hernias, surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, diverticular disease, adhesions and other diseases of the large and small bowel. He also treats benign perianal disease, including fissures, fistulas, pilonidal disease, prolapse amd haemorrhoids. He is experienced in the treatment of groin and belly button hernias and infections, general surgical procedures such as lymph node biopsies, appendicectomies and excisions of “lumps amd bumps”. Mr Hart read Medicine at Leicester Medical School. He was awarded his MD in 2012 by University College, London. He secured the Pan London Colorectal Fellowship a year later and was then appointed as a locum consultant at UCH in 2014, taking up his substantive job at the Royal Free Hospital in 2015. Mr Hart is an Honorary Lecturer at University College London, teaching undergraduates at UCL and on the Royal Free campus. He supervises trainee surgeons of all levels and regularly delivers national courses for the Royal College of Surgeons.
