GMC reg: 4074485I am a Consultant Vascular Surgeon and have provided specialist vascular treatment since 2006. My NHS practice is based at the Countess of Chester Hospital and Wirral University Teaching Hospital. I also have an honorary contract with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. My private practice is based in the Spire hospitals where I see patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic problems. I have dealt with the whole range of vascular surgery and continue to provide both elective and emergency vascular care in the NHS. My index vascular outcomes are publicly accessible through the National Vascular Registry. My longstanding special interest is in the management of patients with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). The TOS Clinic is part of my private vascular practice and I have had the privilege to help improve the quality of life of a significant number of such patients, many of whom have written testimonials of their outcome. I offer the full range of TOS procedures including video-assisted TOS surgery, vein reconstruction for Paget-Schroetter syndrome, revisional surgery and consultations for complex pathology (e.g. Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, sports-related problems). My TOS practice is based on established professional society guidelines and is audited using patients' own reported outcome measures. The TOS clinic is available to patients within the UK as well as international patients. I have close links with my counterparts in the United States, have done a TOS fellowship there, and have certification in upper limb physical therapy. I regularly visit world-class teaching hospitals in the United States to keep abreast of modern vascular developments. In my general vascular practice, I see patients with varicose veins as well as complex deep vein problems such as the Nutcracker Syndrome. I treat patients with difficulty in walking due to circulation impairment (claudication), surgery to prevent strokes and diabetic feet. Currently, I am one of the few vascular surgeons in the UK who has experience treating patients with excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and facial flushing. Patients are encouraged to contact my secretary (+44 151 347 8965) to discuss their needs prior to making an appointment.
