I trained at Sheffield Medical School qualifying in 1996. After my house jobs I came up to Edinburgh where I did the medical rotation at the RIE followed by emergency medicine. I then gained a training post on the Basic Surgical Training programme for the South East of Scotland. I then worked in paediatric medicine and neonatal medicine for 1 year at the Simpson Maternity Unit and RHSC Edinburgh. I gained a specialty training number in Paediatric surgery and urology. I have worked in RHSC Edinburgh, Glasgow Yorkhill hospital and Mater Children's hospital Brisbane where I did a fellowship. In 2011.
