Dr Christopher Ireland

Dr   Chris Ireland  BSc(Hons) MBBS MRCGP(2013) PgD(SEM) PgC(MSKUS) Dr Ireland qualified from St George’s Medical School, London, in 2007. With a keen interest in sports medicine from early in his career, he pursued experience in trauma surgery in New York, training through orthopaedics and emergency medicine before studying General Practice then Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Wales. He consolidated this with postgraduate qualifications in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He has a keen interest in both the practice and education of SEM, currently practicing in the NHS Musculoskeletal Interface Service and working for both the University of Exeter and as an Associate for the National Institute of Health Research. He has a specialist interest in musculoskeletal injuries, their non-surgical management as well as metabolic fitness and health in respect to mitigating chronic disease. He has taught internationally on physiological factors affecting injury recovery and rehabilitation.
