Mr Christopher Bailey

I qualified from Leeds University Medical School in 1998 and I completed House Officer posts and Leeds General Infirmary and St. James's University Hospital.  I undertook Basic Surgical Training in Newcastle upon Tyne and my Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics based in the prestigious Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, Shropshire.  I spent one year working on Fellowship at Sportsmed SA, a large orthopaedic Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia in 2007-2008.  I gained experience in the the management of sports injuries and joint replacement procedures. I have worked as an Orthopaedic Consultant at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Hampshire since 2009 and I live locally with my young family.  I enjoy keeping fit, snowboarding, family walks and holidays.

I see patients with traumatic and degenerate conditions affecting the knee.  I treat patients with sporting injuries such as meniscal tears, ACL injuries and cartilage damage.  I see a large number of patients with conditions affecting the kneecap including anterior knee pain, maltracking and patellar dislocations. I have a particular interest in primary and revision knee replacement and I see many younger patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.  I perform a large number of partial and total knee replacement procedures, particularly in younger, active patients and I am proficient in robot-assisted partial and total knee replacement procedures.
