Dr Chris Steadman

Dr Chris Steadman is a full time Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospital Dorset. He undertakes private work at The Harbour Hospital in Poole, Bournemouth Nuffield Hospital and Dorset Heart Clinic.

Dr Chris Steadman is a Consultant Cardiologist working at University Hospitals Dorset at both Poole and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He has over 20 years of clinical experience. He is a senior clinical leader and was the Clinical Director for Medical Specialties between 2017 and 2021. In 2023 he was voted the best Consultant Cardiologist in the UK for Cardiac Imaging training by the British Junior Cardiologists Association. He has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence from Doctify for Outstanding Patient Experience for the past 2 years, putting him in the top 10% of doctors on the platform. His particular interest is in advanced cardiovascular imaging and non-invasive diagnostics. He has level 3 Accreditation in cardiac MRI from the European Society of Cardiology, the highest level, and was one of the first people in the UK to achieve this. He also is accredited in cardiac CT coronary angiography with the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging.  He is accredited in transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography with the British Society of Echocardiography and also specialises in stress echocardiography. He was a Clinical Research Fellow for over 2 years for the British Heart Foundation and National Institute for Health Research resulting in many presentations at national and international meetings, peer reviewed publications, and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree.
