GMC reg: 4522036Jeff was born in Birmingham. He grew up in Germany having been educated up to Fachhochschulreife (German equivalent of GCSEs). He took A levels in Bury. He graduated in medicine in 1998 at the University Of Wales College Of Medicine in Cardiff. He then spent the next 4 years completing his basic surgical training in South Wales and gained the MRCS. Subsequently he spent a further year and a half gaining additional training in Trauma and Orthopaedics before embarking on his Higher Surgical Training in the North East from 2004. He passed his Intercollegiate Exam in Trauma and Orthopaedics and gained the Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008. In 2009 he under took a year long advanced training in Hand surgery in South Manchester working with both Orthopaedic and Plastic surgeons that deal with hand surgery. He gained exposure to the full spectrum of conditions and treatment in hand and wrist surgery. In November 2009 he was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Hand and Wrist surgery at the University Hospital of North Durham. He has practised there since April 2010. In October 2010 he gained the Postgraduate Diploma in Hand surgery which was awarded jointly by the University of Manchester and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. Currently he is an examiner for the Postgraduate diploma in Hand surgery. He is an active member of the Hand diploma committee of the BSSH.
