Mr Chetan Modi

I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. I specialise in the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions. I studied at Manchester Medical School and completed my surgical training on the Warwick Orthopaedic Rotation based at University Hospital, Coventry. In order to gain further expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery I completed extensive fellowship training in Toronto, Exeter and Derby and a travelling fellowship, sponsored by the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, visiting world experts in the USA at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Rush University in Chicago prior to commencing my Consultant post. I have extensive experience in the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques in the treatment of sports-related injuries, rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, arthritis and elbow stiffness to enable accelerated rehabilitation and early return to activities. I also regularly treat painful arthritic conditions requiring joint replacement, including reverse total shoulder arthroplasty. Having published extensively within the field of shoulder and elbow surgery, I also continue to teach and perform research to develop future treatments and guide decision-making. I take great pride in providing an exceptionally caring and individualised service for all of my patients and above all ensure that they have a full understanding of their conditions and potential treatment options so that shared and fully informed decisions can be made.
