Mr Charles Loh

Mr Charles Loh is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, with specialist expertise in complex reconstruction for trauma and cancer. He is also highly skilled in lymphedema surgery, microsurgery and supermicrosurgery (joining of vessels less than 0.8mm in diameter), offering advanced surgical solutions for patients requiring intricate reconstructive procedures. His clinical work covers a wide range of reconstructive needs, including lower limb reconstruction following trauma or bone infection, as well as the assessment, excision and reconstruction of skin cancers. Over the course of his career, Mr Loh has performed thousands of procedures, from minor skin surgery to free flap reconstruction and specialised lymphedema surgery. He also serves as an Honorary Consultant at Royal Papworth Hospital, where he regularly performs complex chest wall reconstructions. With extensive experience in performing skin cancer and mole excisions, he has achieved a skin cancer clearance rate at the first go of over 95%. Mr Loh is highly skilled in administering local anaesthesia and efficiently performing excisions on any part of the body, ensuring the best possible patient experience. He also specialises in scar optimisation both during and after surgery, prioritising cosmetic outcomes. Additionally, Mr Loh has a particular interest in reconstructive surgery, including complex procedures on the head and neck, providing patients with effective solutions for reconstructing defects following skin cancer surgery. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Loh is an active researcher and committed educator. He has authored more than 150 publications and contributed to several book chapters, including the Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery.
