Prof Charles H Knowles MA, PhD, FRCS (Gen Surg), FASCRS (Hon) Charles Knowles is a consultant colorectal surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic London and Professor of Surgery at Queen Mary University of London. He is regarded as a key international opinion leader on pelvic floor disorders and GI neuromuscular diseases including common functional colorectal conditions such as chronic constipation and faecal incontinence. His track record of delivering high-quality research and of shaping clinical practice is evidenced by several national and international leadership roles and publications in scientific journals (> 300 peer-reviewed papers) and major textbooks.
