Mr Brendan Gallagher

Mr. Gallagher  is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Clinical Director at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. He has been a Consultant since 2020 and was appointed Clinical Director in November 2024. He studied Medicine at Imperial College London before completing his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across London and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery. Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions. Mr. Gallagher has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic (keyhole), hysteroscopic and robotic surgery, as well as urogynaecology and vaginal surgery. He has completed advanced specialist training in these areas and has been selected for several highly regarded national and international training programmes, including the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE)/Ethicon Advanced Laparoscopy Training Programme, the European Gynaecology Expert Training for Upcoming Professionals programme, and the Master of Hysteroscopic Surgery course. He also completed robotic surgery training in 2024. He is a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG), and the British & Irish Association of Robotic and Gynaecological Surgeons (BIARGS). He has published research in peer-reviewed medical journals and regularly presents his work at national and international conferences, helping to advance standards of care in gynaecology. Mr. Gallagher believes in providing compassionate, personalised care and understands that every woman's concerns and circumstances are unique. He takes time to listen, explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly, and work with each patient to develop an individualised treatment plan. His aim is to help women feel informed, reassured and confident in the decisions they make about their health. Mr. Gallagher welcomes referrals for the assessment and management of benign gynaecological conditions, pelvic floor disorders, and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
