Graduated MB, ChB from Glasgow University in 1985. Carried out Basic Surgical Training in Glasgow, and Orthopaedic Registrar Training on the Exeter Rotation. Returned to Glasgow for Senior Registrar Training in Orthopaedics. Specialist Fellowships in Sports Trauma and in Knee Surgery in London and Melbourne respectively.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Western Infirmary from February 1996, with special interests in knee surgery and sports trauma. Continued practice at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow from May 2015 following relocation of services.
