Ms Ballari Ghosh

I graduated from medical school in India, where I also completed my postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The values, friendships and lessons I gained during those formative years have stayed with me throughout my career and continue to influence the way I practise medicine today. After moving to the UK, I completed higher specialist training in the East of England, followed by an advanced fellowship in Gynaecological Oncology at The Christie Hospital, Manchester. Since 2019, I have been a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist at Colchester Hospital, where I also serve as the Gynaecology Oncology Lead. I was honoured to be awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2025. For more than 20 years, I have devoted my career to caring for women with gynaecological cancers. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Over last five years, I have performed more than 400 robotic gynaecological procedures. Alongside clinical practice, I am passionate about developing services, introducing innovation and supporting the next generation of surgeons. As a robotic surgery proctor, I have the privilege of mentoring colleagues as they develop their robotic surgical skills. Outside medicine, I live in Colchester with my husband. I enjoy travelling, reading and discovering new cultures. One of my dreams is to write travelogues someday, combining my love of travel with storytelling and sharing experiences from around the world.
