This information is provided by Mr Arj Imbuldeniya.
Dr Arj Imbuldeniya is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee and Hip Surgeon and the founder of OrthoLongevity™ — a biology-first, surgery-last approach to joint health. He holds an NHS Consultant post at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and practises privately at Lanserhof at The Arts Club in Mayfair, The Cromwell Hospital, HCA Chiswick, and Circle Syon Brentford. His clinical philosophy is simple: most joint problems are not a binary choice between doing nothing and having surgery. With careful assessment of biology, biomechanics, strength, and lifestyle, up to 90% of his patients improve without an operation. When surgery is genuinely needed, every patient is optimised beforehand and supported through structured rehabilitation afterwards. Training and experience Mr Imbuldeniya qualified in Medicine from St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospitals Medical School in 2001. His higher surgical training was completed across the Royal London, Charing Cross, St Mary's Paddington, and Chelsea and Westminster. He undertook specialist fellowship training at The Mater Hospital in Sydney, and was awarded the ESSKA Sports Knee Fellowship in Barcelona, training with leading European knee preservation surgeons. Non-surgical and regenerative treatments High-dose platelet-rich plasma (PRP), Arthrosamid® hydrogel, hyaluronic acid, bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) delivered both intra-articular and intraosseous. These are integrated with strength programming, movement retraining, nutritional and sleep optimisation, and a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, osteopaths, strength coaches, sports physicians, and nutritionists. Surgical expertise ACL reconstruction including female athlete and complex revision cases, meniscal repair, cartilage transplantation using the Arthrex Autocart system, Agili-C cartilage scaffold, patellar stabilisation, robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement, the muscle-sparing Rottinger anterior hip replacement for younger active adults, and minimally invasive posterior hip replacement. Professional memberships and affiliations Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Member of the British Hip Society, the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, and the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA). Masters in Global Health Policy, Imperial College London. NHS Clinical Entrepreneur (Cohort 10). BiteLabs HealthTech Fellow. Beyond the clinic Dr Imbuldeniya's clinical approach is shaped by his own experience. In his mid-forties, with a family history of early cardiovascular death, he transformed his health — losing over 20 kilograms, stopping alcohol, training consistently, and completing the London Marathon injury-free at 49. He now lives what he prescribes. A father of four, a lifelong Brentford FC supporter, and has contributed to orthopaedic care projects in Iraq, Uganda, and Kenya.
