Dr Anna Marciniak

Dr Anna Marciniak is a Consultant Cardiologist based at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and serves as the lead for echocardiography training in the South London Deanery. She completed her cardiology training at St Thomas’, Royal Brompton, and St George’s Hospitals, and was awarded a PhD in echocardiography focusing on valvular heart disease. Earlier in her career, she received a prestigious European scholarship in Belgium and she completed an MSc in advanced medical imaging. She has also been recognised with two Young Investigator Awards from the European Society of Echocardiography, as well as prizes for Best Abstract and Best Moderated Cases at the EuroCMR conference, awarded by the European Society of Cardiovascular Imaging. She has broad experience across all aspects of cardiology and chairs specialist clinical meetings, including multidisciplinary team meetings for complex valve disease and endocarditis.Her clinical expertise includes advanced echocardiography—particularly stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography—as well as cardiac MRI.

General cardiac problems including chest pain, shortness of breath, high blood pressure, palpitations, dizziness and loss of consciousness . Heart valve disease (including aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, mitral regurgitation, mitral stenosis). Transthoracic echocardiography,  stress echocardiography (exercise treadmill and pharmacological stress), bubble contrast echocardiography,  transoesphageal echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), perfusion stress CMR.
